Matches Fishery Reports,
Reviews and Match results
November 2011
As the weather gets cooler the fish have moved out of the shallow
pegs - 1-4 35-37 the deeper water pegs appear to provide the bigger
weights and pegs 5 - 20 and the canal 38-48 are where you want to be
- also peg 31 in the car park is providing good numbers of Ide
We have had reports of over 60lb out of the canal pegs from mid-week
anglers
Any help just stop me or Mike as you see us around the pond

June 2011 Day Ticket News - Well we
have seen some unbelievable catches
Canal
In the canal at peg 38 we had an angler tip back 60lb by 11 in the
morning and then a further 75 lb before tea - when you think the
biggest fish in this pond is 4.5 lb this was a great day
Main Ponds
Quite a number of anglers have had nets of fish weighed in at well
over 50 lb and quite a number of 10lb + carp have been landed. The
largest carp this year is a 22lb 4oz specimen
We ask all day ticket anglers to empty keepnets and return fish
after a max 6 hours so as not to stress the fish - landing nets and
keep nets are there for you but the priority must always be the
health of the fish

February 2011 review
As the weather is starting to improve a number of regulars are
returning to Tansterne - the ghost carp are starting to bite along
with a few mid size mirror carp to 7lb - the tench and barbel in the
canal have fed throughout and a few perch over the 1 1/2 lb have
been caught.
We have been surprised that not so many Ide have been caught but
with regular winter bags of over 25lb anglers have been more than
happy.
As we enter March and the frosts disappear we expect to see the
weights rising quite quickly.
Match Report - 20th Feb 2011
Winter match 9 of 12 Sunday 20th February.
1st out the blocks was rider Jason 24 lb 8oz from canal peg 41 - got
his fish on the top shelf - 2nd Barry a pond regular with 23lb 8oz
from peg 17, this peg has done well through out the winter - and 3rd
after drawing first 3 weeks running Mike (manager) peg 34, a couple
of foul hooked lumps weighed 17lb - all fished maggot and castor
tight lines.
The summer league starts with match 1 on the 15th April - these are
fished every other Friday afternoon through to the end of September
- first match 1.00 o'clock draw - all welcome
Ron (owner)
February - Sunday 13th
only a limited number of hardy anglers this week with the wind still
blowing harder than ever and as cold as ever it was Col Markham who
took the honours with a decent weight of 29lb 8oz from peg 44 canal,
2nd Bob with 11lb 8oz just beating owner Ron 3rd with10lb 12oz both
from main pond pegs 34 and 16 all caught on maggot - some bigger
fish are starting to bite with a number of lumps failing to reach
the keep nets - tight lines
February - Sunday 6th
the hardy anglers who fish in all weathers do get their rewards and
on Sunday the open rover was won with 26lb 10oz including a perch to
almost 3lb - several other anglers had over the 20lb mark and fish
were caught all over the ponds - single and double maggot appear to
be the order of the day
Fishing report for January 2011
It is wonderful to go out to the ponds and not have to break the ice
– sadly this was not the case during December and January
We appear to be one of the lucky ones in that we have not lost any
fish to the terrible conditions and as a pond owner my thoughts a re
with those owners who a re having to fully restock due to the amount
of fish lost to the ice
On a brighter note we have had a number of matches in January and
although the weights are not brilliant you have had to push 20lb to
win on each occasion.
The main pond pegs 1 to 37
Pegs 6 7 9 17 19
34 and 37 have produced the goods with ghost carp to 3lb
The canal pond pegs 38 to 48 has fished best of all due to the chub
and ghost carp with over 40lb out of peg 44 on the 29th January
We still have a number of open rover winter matches on a Sunday –
please call Mike if you would like to enter

October 2010
Latest report and news of our bi weekly open rover matches.
Fishery
As we head into winter the main baits proving positive are maggot -
chopped worm and some success still on pellet.
Despite the cold weather the Canal is fishing well with barbel and
tench still being caught.
Better weights are now coming out of back pond in the deeper water.
There has been quite a bit of success from the car park pond now it
has been opened up into the main pond
Matches.
Every other Sunday e.g. 7th - 21st November 5th - 19th December we
have an open rover.
Entry is £15 with £10 going to pools - 50% to the winner, 30% 2nd
and 20% 3rd - maggot feeder and small bomb allowed during the winter
season - draw 8.30 - fish from 9.30 - 3.00
We also have a league with best 10 of 12 scores counting - 7th
November will be second match.
Wednesday, 15th September 2010
Main pond fishing well. Best baits are worm, maggots and casters.
Had a few nets of 80lb+ on these baits. Pellet still working but
slower than the maggots and bites are very shy; you need to dot your
float right down or you wont see a lot of them.
Canal pond much the same with plenty of chub, barbel and tench
coming out. This pond produced the winner in a recent match even
though the big pond was pegged in the same match. Fish the far side
and keep feeding little and often.
Car park pond producing a few bags of ghosties. There will be some
major work done on this pond, hopefully in October. It is proposed
to join it with the main pond and because of the depth we have in
there it is hoped it will produce in winter. Will keep you updated
on this work i.e.= start date and length of time to get job done.

Week ending Sunday 1st August 2010
Main pond
fishing well at the minute, some good bags coming on paste in the
margins, pellet over micro's tight up to big island on pole working
well. Lumps falling to floating baits on warm days, dog biscuit
preferred to bread.
Please
note floaters on the hook only (no freebies). Other baits doing
well are cheese, corn and meat.
Canal pond, tench, barbel, chub and ghosties queuing up to come out,
maggot n worm best, but you can catch on anything at the minute,
fish across to far shelf for best results. Either myself or Mike are
on the banks everyday so if you have questions, just ask . . . tight
lines,
Tom (manager).
